NICOLE MORISSEY MS, RD, BC-ADMAdvisor

Nicole is a Registered Dietitian based in Michigan. She has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and Master’s degree from Benedictine University. She is a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM), and the author of two cookbooks.
Challenged by obesity since early childhood, Nicole Morrissey’s passion for nutrition is deeply rooted in her everyday life. Her own weight struggles lead Nicole into her chosen career path as a Registered Dietitian (RD). She specializes in recipe development, nutrition for the average Joe (or “every day healthy”), and diabetes. Never promoting a quick fix, Nicole focuses on balance and learning to eat in a way that is maintainable in the daily grind of life which she talks about on her blog, Prevention RD (see below).
As a supporter of health being more than a number, Nicole de-emphasizes weight as measure of success, fitness, and health status. Instead, she focuses on including ALL foods in moderation with consideration to eating mindfully and in a fashion that’s enjoyable for living life. Diets fail because people set unattainable goals and have unrealistic expectations for themselves. Nicole feels nutrition is about so much more than weight or inches, but about happiness, balance, and above all, achieving a person you love and admire. Nicole is a new mom and is proud to add Mom to her list of credentials!
